Love this song and all the memories wrapped up within.
Dream state, love and loss. Yes
It just takes time

I finally saw the Terrence Malick film, The Tree of Life. Being a fan of Malick’s film, The Thin Red Line, I was excited by what I saw in this preview. The cinematography looked stunning. The camera work combined with the quiet whispers of peoples’ dialogue; it looked promising. Malick picks cinematographers who have an ability to make the viewer feel like they are in the scene; that a huge film camera is not even present on set. I was really excited to see the film and to experience a piece of art, not another superhero comic book film with explosions, special effects and actors who should not be called such. What I experienced was painfully slow, visually beautiful, but without any glue to hold the fragments of the story together; slow-dropped breadcrumbs on an endless trail. I am a sucker for films that deal with introspection, that question one’s existence and for beautiful cinematography. Unfortunately, Malick did not execute better editing on the final cut and left the story without enough substance. Risk much, lose much I guess. I would rather see someone try something new and possibly difficult to digest than Spiderman 23.
The preview is beautiful; definitely worth watching.
I would have to say that Yeasayer was completely off my radar until my friend played them for me while we hung out on his roof while watching jet planes fly over his house and drinking delicious Belgian beer. Kind of cements things to a particular event. Then seeing them in concert that night was a great experience; the music, the vibe of the room, the waitress bringing me drinks all night, woman dancing to impress…intoxicating. Weird mix of pop, indie, weirdness and bad hair. I liked their strangeness. Now Hush Hush was a whole other experience. A tall, gangly, pasty, bearded man with bad body odor singing to club beat music about having sex parties and bloody sex…awesome. He almost stole the show. The Smith Westerns, who played next were boring after seeing this guy.

Heard some of these on Pandora the other day. Only had heard Ziggy and was not too impressed. Stephen, well, he has some talent. Fitting music for Summer. Love this first song
Obsession strikes again. I want to see you in the morning. Several very different songs, but good loud and irreverent.
Gotta be honestYou gotta be honest, you gotta be guarded, you sure aren’t gonna say.
Right on the inside, that is the hardest- the hardest game to play.
You sorted it all out and managed to slip through the night into the day.
Life and the soul. Do you ever get lonely? I’m gonna take you on.
I am slowly digesting In Rainbows

I don’t want to be your friend
I just want to be your lover
